Reservoir Storage Conditions

As of December 1, 2005, water storage in the major irrigation reservoirs in the Oldman River basin is above normal, except for the Waterton Reservoir which is normal. Water storage in the basin is similar to or slightly greater than at this time last year.

Water storage as of December 1, 2005 in the major hydroelectric and irrigation reservoirs of the Bow River basin is normal to above normal. Water storage is slightly greater than at this time last year.

Water storage in the major reservoir of the Red Deer River basin is above normal. Water storage in the Dickson Reservoir is slightly greater than last year.

Storage volumes in the major hydroelectric reservoirs in the North Saskatchewan River basin are above normal. Water storage is similar to storage last year at this time.

December 1, 2005 reservoir data is available in Table 1. Much of the data is not current to December 1, 2005 as some gauges are routinely shut down for the winter.
