Alberta Environment and Water and Sustainable Resource Development have merged. Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development is a partner in protecting and enhancing Alberta's natural environment, to ensure the continued enjoyment of a clean and healthy environment by all.

Ministry structure

Alberta Environment and Water is organized into five main business divisions: Strategy, Policy, Monitoring and Science, Operations and Corporate. In addition to these divisions, Alberta Environment and Water's work is supported by Communications and Environmental Law.

Reporting agencies

The Minister of Environment and Water is responsible for the Environmental Appeals Board which reports directly to the Minister. In addition, the Minister oversees the work of the Beverage Container Management Board; Alberta Used Oil Management Association; Alberta Recycling Management Authority (electronics, tires and paint).
